"Honestly" is a song by American singer-songwriter Gabbie Hanna. It was released independently on August 15, 2018 alongside its encore, "Honestly (Encore)".

Background

Hanna wrote the song about a pathological liar that she had formerly dated. She stated on her Instagram that "'Honestly' and 'Honestly (Encore)' are songs for anyone who's ever been manipulated, lied to, gaslighted, or made to feel like they were crazy. Anyone ever associated with a narcissist."

Commercial performance

"Honestly" debuted at #21 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100, #10 on the Digital Song Sales chart, and #3 on the Pop Digital Song sales chart. "Honestly" and its encore also charted on the US iTunes songs chart at #1 and #2 respectively.

Music video

On August 15, 2018, Hanna also released a double music video for the songs that was directed by Ryan Parma. The first half of the five minute video is dedicated to "Honestly", displaying Hanna dancing alone in a warehouse featuring a white brick wall, flashing lights, and a single black folding chair. The video then transitions to Hanna being tangled in a metaphorical "web of lies" as "(Encore)" starts to play. She then desperately tries to escape the two men who have her tied up, ultimately failing and giving up.
